The primary objective of this section is to coordinate relocation of interfering utilities and secure utility service needed for OC Public Works improvement projects. The utilities most frequently involved include water, electricity, gas, sewer, and cable TV.

This work must conform to schedule, cost and regulatory limitations that meet the needs of both the utility and the County. Formal agreements for this purpose are frequently prepared by Utilities Section staff and presented to the Board of Supervisors for approval.

An additional major activity is the preparation of documentation for the formation and approval of underground utility districts.
